    • Skills gaps mean lost opportunities

-At turning points in the economic environment, such as during a pandemic, there is a shift in human resources from industries with reduced employment to industries with high demand.

    – France and Ireland have successfully reskilled, resulting in increased employment overall. Conversely, Colombia has failed, resulting in vacant positions in high-demand industries and a skills gap that reduces employment overall.

    - Creating an educational environment that assumes personnel mobility within companies in the same industry will greatly contribute to eliminating the skills gap.

    • Decentralization of specialized skills

-A new trend in recent years is that STEM, which was the most important skill for business leaders in 2016, has become a skill that anyone can use due to the spread of no-code development, and by 2023 it has fallen out of the top 10.

Instead, there is a trend towards placing more emphasis on human-specific abilities, such as the ability to use time meaningfully and the ability to produce results as a team, and it is highly likely that these will also become basic skills for regular employees in the future, even in the case of AI.

    • AI skills vary by industry

–AI skills are expected to become essential skills for workers in industries such as healthcare, finance, and professional services.

AI skills, which ranked 15th in skills demand in 2023, are expected to rise to third place by 2027, the largest jump of 12 spots of any skill.

    • DX is automation, AI is workforce expansion

-The methods of control over the results are different. With DX, anyone can get the results they programmed, whereas with generative AI, the results can vary greatly depending on the person using it and the prompts they input, so guardrails are put in place to keep the results within the expected range.

–DX automates by replacing labor with systems, while generative AI expands the workforce by adding AI capabilities to human labor.

–Instead of DX, which emphasizes IT investment, generative AI will become an operational model that emphasizes the people who use it.
