As an example, a Beeple piece that was sold for 7 million yen on the primary market was sold for 700 million yen on the secondary market. Traditionally, artists would not receive a single yen, but if they sell it as an NFT, they can earn 70 million yen (at 10%). This royalty is the innovation of NFTs, and it is what motivates artists to continue creating great works.
